Abstract: The development of the oil well pipe with special thread connection is a systematical project involving development of relevant gauges and measuring tools for the thread as a key item. The basic structure of the WSP-1T special thread jointer recently developed by Wuxi Seamless Steel Tube Co., Ltd. is briefed, whereas the inspection and measuring facilities as used including the thread gauges and measuring tools are elaborated, focusing on the basic design principles and the design methods thereof. The site operations demonstrate that the said gauges and measuring tools are capable of providing accurate measurement and convenient operation so as to ensure the quality of the WSP-1T product, which also provides a reference for design of other related products.
