      Abstract: Being so critical in manufacturing process of seamless steel tubes,the roll gap control of mandrel pipe mill is directly related to the geometric accuracy and crop length of the tube as rolled.The Ф159 mm FQM pipe mill located in Pangang Group Chengdu Iron & Steel Co.,Ltd.is provided with function of quick and accurate control of roll gap owing to being equipped with the hydraulic capsule control(HCC) with the world advanced technological level,the TDC full-digital control system as one of the high-end product by Siemens for the electrical control system which enables comprehensively utilization of multi-communication types for the mill line.The paper focuses on explication of the TDC system,covering such aspects as the composition,the communication types,the software programming and the operation effectiveness.
