Abstract:
The comparison between the gravity-cast roll and the centrifugally-cast roll is conducted.As a result it is identified that the centrifugally-cast roll is in possession of such advantages as structural homogeneity, high and consistent hardness, fine mechanical properties, and high service life.Also detailed here is an analysis of causes for roll failure of the PQF mandrel mill.Accordingly, preventative actions against the failure are proposed, including strengthening checking of the roll, properly controlling the rolling cycle, pre-heating the roll and controlling the roll-change interval.
