Abstract:
Over the past three decades since implementation of China’s strategy of Reform and Opening to the Outside World, promoted by the rapid development of the national economy, great achievements have been made for domestic steel tube industry, including setting up of a number of state-of-the-art steel tube production lines up to relevant advanced international level; 2007’s total steel tube output of 41.26 million tons as increased from 1978’s 1.682 million tons accounting for 35.8% of the total global capacity; the change with respect to turning the original situation of net importation of steel tubes into a net exportation one; tremendous improvement on both steel tube variety and quality, and in particular the significant progresses as made in R & D and production of special oil tubular products and hi-pressure boiler tubes as well. A review is present here in the article, covering the achievements of the domestic steel tube industry as made over the past three decades since the implementation of China’s strategy of Reform and Opening to the Outside World, in terms of capacity, product variety and quality, exportation and technical equipment, etc.
