Abstract:
It is necessary for manufacturing high quality HFW linepipe to not only have excellent process equipment, but also exercise great care of the streamlined production techniques for processes from making of the materials through the tube fabricating as well as the control techniques involving the tube-making operation steps, including shape welding, weld seam heat treatment and weld seam inspection, etc. While the complete and wellfunctioning process equipment are the requisite for producing high quality linepipe, the streamlines pro- duction techniques and operation step control techniques for tube making act as the important technical measures as for quality assurance of the hi-quality HFW linepipe. Described here in the essay are practices as used abroad for manufacture and quality control of the HFW linepipe. Finally, proposals are made for domestic HFW linepipe manufacturers attempting to build medium-sized pipe production line and develop product types.
