    Investigation of Hot Extrusion-caused Cracking of Inconel 718 Seamless Steel Tube and Related Control Measures

    • 摘要: 采用SEM、EDS及光學(xué)金相顯微鏡等分析方法,對Inconel 718無縫鋼管擠壓產(chǎn)生的裂紋情況及開裂原因進(jìn)行分析。分析認(rèn)為:坯料外表面加熱溫度偏高,熱擠壓速度過高是造成擠壓開裂的原因。通過增加預(yù)熱時間、適當(dāng)降低擠壓溫度、減慢擠壓速度,Inconel 718無縫鋼管批量擠壓后的表面質(zhì)量良好。

       

      Abstract: Analyzed here in the essay are the cracks as occurring on the surface of the Inconel 718 seamless steel tube during the hot-extrusion process, and the causes by means of the SEM, EDS and the optical metallographic microscopy, etc.As a result, it is identified that high heating temperature on the surface of the blank and the high hot-extrusion speed lead to the said cracking.Accordingly relevant corrective actions are taken, including increasing the pre-heating time, properly reducing the hot-extrusion temperature, and slowing down the extrusion speed, which have brought about satisfactory surface quality of the Inconel 718 seamless steel tube as hot-extruded in lots.
