Abstract:
Described in the article is the background of the MES system project as undertaken at the Seamless Steel Pipe Plant of Angang Steel Company Limited,focusing on details of the configuration and framework and application functions of the system proper. Actual operation result of the system shows that owing to a successful integration of related management experiences,industrial experiences and information technology,it is capable of timely processing and saving the production performance information,quality information and material-tracking information,which will in turn to promote the communications among all the departments and all jobs of the plant so as to improve the production decision-making conditions,and ensure the information transmission timely and accurately,resulting in provision of reliable basis for routine management and decision-making activities of the company.
